This album brings them back to their strong riffs and lyrics like on their 3rd album, Homesick. After their lead guitarist, Tom Denney quit in 2009 it made their guitar lines a little weak, but new lead guitarist Kevin Skaff seems to be setting the bar higher for himself. This album has a wonderful flow and many different themes incorperated throughout. Jeremy Mckinnon outdid himself with some of the lyrics. A personal favourite is off track three, entitled "Sometimes You're The Hammer, Sometimes You're The Nail." The lyrics that speak most are towards the end of the song.

http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/457#comments Music Reviews Wed, 23 Oct 2013 19:21:29 +0000 Karlie.Huckels 457 at http://uncradio.com/site Test http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/453
Test
http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/453#comments Thu, 17 Oct 2013 21:32:08 +0000 swood 453 at http://uncradio.com/site Bear Blitz Live Oct 19th!! http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/451
Check out the Chomp Shirt. And as with most things, you can relate them directly to the wide world of sports. This pre-season’s men’s basketball top 25 rankings almost mirrored that of two or three decades ago. With Indiana at the top, Duke just behind, UNLV cracking the top 10, Michigan, Kentucky, and Arizona all with strong programs to start the year, sports enthusiasts across the nation might have thought the was the sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine 2. We’d picture Bobby Knight throwing chairs, Jalen Rose trash talking, Christian Laettner practicing turn arounds, maybe even Adolph Rupp walking out onto the floor instead of Calipari, which I’m sure would be welcomed by most of the nation. At the beginning of the year you could be asking yourself which team would prove to be dominant?

With only a month left until the madness, we’re still asking ourselves the same question, but it’s a question that most of us are glad to be asking. Ratings have declined substantially in the last ten years with so many youngsters fleeing the books and class rooms to the night clubs and team planes. We’ve been missing great rivalries that we were used to seeing year after years. In past years, you could walk into the Bellagio and place a bet at the beginning of the season on Kentucky to win the National Championship and you would almost have a 50/50 shot of being right. People were getting bored of watching freshmen and sophomores struggle through tight situations. No one was developing skills under some of the greatest coaching in the world...

http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/415#comments Sports News Thu, 14 Feb 2013 00:49:13 +0000 Hoffman 415 at http://uncradio.com/site Open Mic Night Continues to Thrive http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/413

Pictured is Preston Adams

Open mic night is alive and well, as student after student make their way to the stage and do... what ever they want. UNC has a vast amount of tallent, and UNC Student radio gets to see it every two weeks when UPC (click here to find out more about UPC) has their open mic night. The dates for the remainder of the year are up on the UPC facebook page (link above). Hope to see you all there!

http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/413#comments Events Wed, 13 Feb 2013 23:11:29 +0000 Davis 413 at http://uncradio.com/site Lunar New Year tickets are sold out! http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/412

Tickets for the Lunar New Year, which is tonight are sold out. The event starts at 5 in the UC Ballrooms and includes dinner and live performances. Congrats to this great organazation for selling out their event once again! Pictures and video from the event will be posted on our facebook page.

-Matthew P. Students have been seen buying Tommy Bahama shirts, stainied ties and old suit jackets.

One employee told us, "We owe it all to Mr. Macklemore. We can hardly keep any of our urine soaked clothes in stock." Goodwill also reported that they have seen massive increases in profits, almost doubling the normal revenue average in February alone.

Students are encouraged to bring no less than $20 in their pockets, and expect lines and delays while trying to purchase clothes that will resemble "your grandpa's style."

Tickets are officially sold out for the show, but for those who already have their tickets, be sure to stop by anyone of these local businesses and get your threads together for the show.

-Benjamin Fuller, Northern Lights
http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/411#comments UNC News Sat, 09 Feb 2013 18:46:39 +0000 411 at http://uncradio.com/site Student Senate Open Forum a Great Success http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/410

Oliver Bourne, Student Senate Director of Finance, speaking at the begining of UNC Student Senate's Open Form this evening.

Tonight was the Student Fee Open form which had a massive turn out. Only a few chairs sat empty this evening as every Organization on campus had an opportunity to either speak on their own behalf, or for other students to add their commentary. Mostly positive comments came forward, while a few reflected change to come in the near future. The event was run by Mr. Bourne who is the Director of Finance for UNC's Student Senate.

More photos of the event are available here

Click here to learn more about UNC's Student Senate
http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/410#comments UNC News Fri, 08 Feb 2013 07:32:58 +0000 Davis 410 at http://uncradio.com/site Radio at Bear Bistro this Week! http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/393

This week University of Northen Colorado Student Radio is in front of the Bear Bistro in the UC during Lunch on Monday and Friday, and Dinner Monday through Thursday. Playing top 40 hits and requests. The Bear Bistro serves Pizza / Pasta and you can use your meal plan swipes. Until Friday when you order a meal you will be entered to win their raffle which will be drawn on Friday. Come on down and hang out with us here at Bear Bistro.

Bear Bistro Lunch Hours:

Monday through Friday: 10 30 AM to 1 30 PM

Bear Bistro Dinner Hours:

Monday through Thursday: 5 00 PM to 7 00 PM

Come on down, We'll see you there!
http://uncradio.com/site/?q=node/393#comments Events Tue, 05 Feb 2013 07:23:39 +0000 Davis 393 at http://uncradio.com/site
